Custom NPCs and More


In this update I've added custom NPCs. You'll be able to create your own using a simple form or try NPCs others have created. 

Currently, they are available for random travel encounters as well as challenge encounters, but not Bounties due to some complexity with bounty implementation. Unlike vanilla challenge encounters, custom NPCs will not have loyalty bonuses, again due to the complexity of implementing that functionality. Using custom NPCs will prevent you from collected purified orgone for inter-run progression.

Another major change is the image engine. You'll now be able to browse through other highly relevant images, not just the image that scored highest in representing the narration. If you're dissatisfied with the served image, click "Next Best Image Match" to see another, and click Original Image to return to the highest rated one. You can still browse through your image history as before by clicking the left and right side of the image, respectively. The image on screen when clicking "Submit" will now be the image saved to history, so be sure to have the image you want to keep onscreen when you take your next turn. 

There is also now a toggle for a "Performance" mode (default) vs a "Quality" mode. Performance mode will skip any image that cannot load automatically, ensuring you never have to manually reload. Quality mode will always show the best image, even if it requires manual reload. I've also reselected the NPC profile images such that all of them can load automatically, ensuring you won't have to manually reload profile images regardless of which mode you choose.

I've also reworked the GUI code to make it more modular and maintainable going forward.
